Yusra Alshareef Alqurmuzi suddenly woke up, after a massive sky-wide blast by the international Alliance airstrikes on Iraq, during the Gulf War, after the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait.

Yusra Jabbar Alshareef, an Iraqi female from Zubair, Basra town in Iraq, experienced very difficult living conditions since her childhood.

During the Iraqi Iranian War of the 1980s, she lived, as a child, in a family with her Kuwaiti mother and her Iraqi father, who was an officer at the Saddam Husain’s army.

Under the continuous airstrikes, Yusra had to wake up at several painful nights, and thousands of people either displaced, disappeared, or kidnapped. Her mother fled to Kuwait while her father disappeared without her knowing whether he was killed in the war or kept in Saddam Husain’s prisons.

One day, Yusra remembered that she has an uncle living in Aleppo, Syria, so she went there to continue her education until graduation. When the Syrian revolution erupted, she found herself a refugee living in a tent on the Syrian-Turkish borders, with thousands of other refugees, facing an unknown future. There, she was living on humanitarian aids, sent mostly by suspicious Islamic organizations.

On one occasion, she was noticed by Shaikh “Yusef Aljanah”, who was supervising the distribution processes of the aids. Despite of her miserable condition, she caught his attention. Hence, Aljanah started passing aids to her, sympathized with her, until he took her out of the refugees’ camp.

Later, Aljanah married Yusra and took her to his country, Bahrain. There, he put her in an apartment, in the capital city, where he kept her and denied her any right to leave the apartment. Every night, he was visiting her just to rape her in exchange of providing her with housing and food.

Therefore, Yusra become desperate and managed to runaway to Dubai where she had to live as a prostitute in hotels and night clubs, until she was caught and prisoned.

After she was released, she managed to become a refugee in Britain, where she found herself in the midst of turmoil that reminding her of what she went through in her country. Later, Yusra found a job as a rooms-cleaner in a hotel.

Because of loneliness, sufferings and feeling lost, curiosity prompted her to the game of opening and searching in the hotel guests’ bags, just for fun. Day after day, she found that this game is interesting and become part of her daily life.   One day, she came across an eccentric guest, a Saudi rich woman, called “Samar Yam”.

After meeting her, the woman was treating Yusra friendly, so she thought that Samar is trying to sexually harass her. However, the women managed to change her mind when she took Yusra to a strange house outside London. There, she discovers that Samar has another identity, when she started talking to her about the injustice done to her family and her country, adding that she will help her to find her father and take revenge of those who offended her.

While she was working in the hotel, Yusra meets a worker called Flynn. He started treating her friendly and offering her some services, such as using his car to take her to where she stays, specially at bad weather times. And by chance, one day she met “Mike”, the Pakistani origin man, who carries out several fraudulent, but legalized, commercial and real estate jobs. At the beginning, she felt disgusted of his appearance, but after he gave her a valuable painting, as a gift in exchange of the first night at bed, she started liking him before they get into a cordial relation. Her relationship with “Samar Yam” leads Yusra to a secret house where she meets an important and influential person who works with an armed organization fighting the Iraqi regime who took power after the fall of Saddam Husain. The man promised her to retrieve her dignity after leaving Iraq and the scattering of her family, as well as surprising her of a chance to reach her father, who is still alive but hidden.
